LESSONS IN PUBLIC POLICY
On December 16, 2003 Sacramento County administrators tried to establish a public policy that would have stuck it to south Sacramento even more than they had been.  Under their policy recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, no county agency would be able to say no to a contract city that wanted more county employees.  The county was already short deputies and this policy would have made things worst.  The pushing of this policy, as crime was rising in south Sacramento, was more evidence that some county leaders could care less what happens to some people.
